Stars can be Almost Invisible

These cool stars, known as brown dwarfs, don't emit much visible light at all, despite having star-like qualities. These "failed stars" are not massive enough to sustain fusion of hydrogen in their cores, which is responsible for a star's shine.

Starquakes - A Real Phenomena

Similar to earthquakes, starquakes occur on neutron stars, but with much more dramatic effects. These quakes can change the shape of the star, causing it to become more oblate, or speed up their rotation and lead to changes in radiation they emit.
